Culture and tradition in one week

If you want to fully immerse yourself into the Sevillian culture, do not miss the Holy Week. Whether you are a religious person or not, you will enjoy this outdoor festivity in which Christianity celebrates the late life and death of the Son of God, known as the Passion of Jesus Christ.

Processions of up to three pasos, organised by hermandades, religious brotherhoods, take the streets carefully following an itinerary that you can get for free in any store. The pasos are considered artistic masterpieces made by local artists, most of them of great antiquity, in which the different scenes of the sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary are portrayed.

But Holy Week also means celebration. Thus, bars and restaurants in the city centre and nearby neighbourhoods are fully prepared to serve the many locals and tourists that want to enjoy the gastronomy of the city.
